The Ten Commandments - Part 3 - Revere the Name of God

The third commandment prohibits misusing God’s name, which includes using it thoughtlessly, pridefully, or as an expression of anger. Because a person’s name represents their entire character and reputation, speaking the name of Jesus should always evoke reverence and worship. Believers are challenged to live worthily of the name "Christian," ensuring their daily actions in the marketplace and school do not bring reproach to God.
