Let's be turning in our Bibles to the book of Proverbs and I'll tell you exactly where in a moment, all right? All right, we'll get there in just a minute. Think of the last time you were really frustrated. Go ahead. Don't tell me when it was, you know, three minutes ago. No, I'm the way over in the, don't, but think of your feeling. What were you feeling when you were really frustrated? After nearly 20 years of marriage, I've learned what frustrates my wife and she, me. We've had our share of mistakes and judgment and we've had sensitive conversations and, of course, there's that surefire anger builder of tone of voice. You can say the right thing the wrong way, the wrong tone of voice and boom. This week, you know, our dogs picked up on the tone of voice and I've told some of you this before. As soon as she knows I'm getting there, you know, something's starting to build, she heads for the basement. That's the surefire way of knowing that something's not right. It's kind of like sort of a surrogate Holy Spirit if I'm not hearing the real one. You know, as kids we learn what's acceptable to our parents and what angers them. With our co-workers and our friends, likewise, we learn what pleases and we also learn what frustrates. Henry, I'm getting some ring up here. Are you trying to find that? We know what frustrates. We know that if we're not careful and we do the wrong thing at the wrong time, we could have a serious problem. And, you know, it might be, it's getting better. That frustrates a little bit. Okay. Robin, I need that light on also. You just turned it off. All right. Now, I don't know about you, but I much prefer to know what frustrates someone than to play games. Have you ever been in a relationship where you thought everything was going right and going well and then suddenly you realize they told you, you know, you've been doing this for six months and it's really bugging me. You say, thanks a lot. I didn't know that, you know. So, when it comes to what frustrates and what angers God, just like people, it's probably wisdom to us to know. And in these last couple of, last week and this week, we've been looking at what God feels about certain things. What delights God last week, what pleases Him, and tonight what frustrates Him. You know, one of our ushers told me on the way in, he said, everyone's coming in with a smile on their face. And I said, oh no, you know, we're gonna be talking about anger and frustration. I don't want to lose that. And yet, I think tonight there's some reason to smile about what we're going to talk about because in the end, you see, it will serve us as we serve God. If we really know what causes Him frustration, what causes Him anger. And folks, I have to tell you, there's an awful lot in His Word about this. For the first time that I can ever remember, I have two messages to give. I'm going to give a different message tonight and tomorrow because I have so much stuff. I don't know which one I'll do the third service. And it goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. The Lord began saying, I'm frustrated with Adam and Eve. And so, what did He do? Out of the garden they went. There's some heavy numbers in the Bible about God's frustration. The flood days, remember that? It says that the Lord was grieved that He made man. Genesis 6-7. The Lord was frustrated with Moses.
