Discovering the Spirit-Filled Life XXIII, What Happens When We Die

April 26, 1989

1:31:27

SUMMARY

This teaching establishes death as a final certainty and a mortal enemy that is ultimately overcome through the resurrection of Jesus. It outlines the post-death experience for believers, including immediate consciousness, presence with Christ, and the receipt of a glorified body. The message also contrasts this with the biblical reality of eternal separation for non-believers, stressing the urgency of personal evangelism.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

I'm going to ask you a really tough question. Are you tired of seeing me up here? Oh, good, because I'm not tired of seeing you either. Let's stand and praise the Lord together. For the Lord is marching on. For the Lord is marching on, and His army is ever strong, and His glory shall be seen upon the land. Repeat the anthem. Sing a winter song. Praise the Lord for the battle's won. No weapon formed against us shall stand. All right, now everybody's going to clap this time. For the captain of the host is Jesus. We're following in His footsteps. No foe shall stand against us in the fray. For the captain of the host is Jesus. We're following in His footsteps. No foe shall stand against us in the fray. We are marching in Christi's path. It's a victory in His mighty hand. Let us march on to take our promised land. For the Lord is marching on, and His army is ever strong, and His glory shall be seen upon the land. For the captain of the host is Jesus. We're following in His footsteps. No foe shall stand against us in the fray. For the captain of the host is Jesus. We're following in His footsteps. No foe shall stand against us in the fray. For the captain of the host is Jesus. We're following in His footsteps. No foe shall stand against us in the fray. Bless you, Lord. Go ahead and tell the one next to you that you're standing with them as a soldier in God's army. Go ahead. Tell the one next to you, I'm standing with you as a soldier in God's army tonight. The Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and you shall have a song in the night. Come to the mountain of the Lord, see His glory and His power, for He's the mighty one of Israel. He's the mighty one of Israel. His voice shall be heard in the power of His word, the mighty one of Israel. The eyes of the blind shall be opened and they'll see, the ears of the deaf shall hear. Thank you, Lord. The lame man shall jump as a leaf at the heart, the tongue of the dumb shall sing, for He's the mighty one of Israel. He's the mighty one of Israel. His voice shall be heard in the power of His word, the mighty one of Israel. The Lord shall cause His glorious beauty to be seen, the desert shall move and rejoice. Say to them that are fearful of heart, be strong and listen to His voice. He's the mighty one of Israel. He's the mighty one of Israel. His voice shall be heard in the power of His word, the mighty one of Israel. He's the mighty one of Israel. He's the mighty one of Israel. His voice shall be heard in the power of His word, the mighty one of Israel. Just a minute. He's the mighty one of Israel. Yes, you are, Lord. The mighty one of Israel. The voice shall be heard in the power of His word, the mighty one of Israel. Everyone. He's the Mighty One of Israel. The Mighty One of Israel. His voice shall be heard in the power of His Word. The Mighty One of Israel. Bless you all. Go ahead and give the Lord a clap. I'll recognize. You are the Mighty One of Israel. Mighty One. Mighty One of Israel. And blessed be your name. For a triumphant I will rejoice and be made glad. Blessed be your name, Most High. For a triumphant I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. Blessed be your name, Most High. For a triumphant I will rejoice and be made glad. I will rejoice. Blessed be your name, Most High. For a triumphant I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. Lord, You are my righteousness. Showing truth and faithfulness, I will rejoice and be made glad. I will rejoice. I will rejoice and be made glad. I will rejoice and be made glad. Oh, Father, we rejoice as we come into your presence tonight. Go ahead, just speak your praise to him. Lord, we rejoice in your presence tonight. Father, we thank you that we don't live by some lotto somewhere. Lord, we thank you that we don't live even by our flesh and blood, but we live by the spirit of God who is in us. We live, Lord, tonight because of your faithfulness, Lord. You have given us life. You have chosen to put us on this earth. You have given us a purpose. You have called us, Lord, to be your children. And we rejoice. We rejoice as your people in your presence tonight. And we give you thanks. We give you thanks. And all God's people say, amen. We're going to hear a special, and I'd just like to ask you to be seated for a moment while our praise team leads us. And you can feel free to clap in your seats as they lead us in this song. Blessed be the Lord, almighty fortress. Blessed be the Lord, my sword and shield. Blessed be the Lord, who reigns victorious. Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be the Lord, almighty fortress. Blessed be the Lord, my sword and shield. Blessed be the Lord, who reigns victorious. Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord. Your pow'r is like a raising pin Your grace brought it down to me And now I walk in victory Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be the Lord, a mighty fortress Blessed be the Lord, my sword and shield Blessed be the Lord, who reigns victorious Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord Your blood set it captive free Your love is giving life to me And now I'm yours eternally Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be the Lord, a mighty fortress Blessed be the Lord, my sword and shield Blessed be the Lord, who reigns victorious Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be, blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be the Lord, a mighty fortress Blessed be the Lord, my sword and shield Blessed be the Lord, who reigns victorious Hallelujah! Bless you, Lord! Bless you, Lord! Did you know that that's scriptural? To bless the Lord? At all times I will bless you. His praise will be in my mouth. Well kids, I know that you like to bless him too. Don't you? Come on parents, we've got to teach our kids. Don't you kids like to bless the Lord? Oh, they're never this quiet at home. You didn't make as much noise as my four. Jeff or Sue, are you here to dismiss the kids? We have the overheads. Kids, it's time for you to go. Jeff, why don't you just share about the family festival on Saturday first and then go ahead. I need at least two people, hopefully three, that will raise their hand right now and say yes, I'll go back to the nursery and help out. Okay, thank you very much. I just need three, really. Two in the toddlers and one in the infant nursery. We'll go back there. Thank you very much. Why don't we start dismissing the kids and I'll tell you about the things that are going on on Saturday while we're doing it. We'll start with the 5th and 6th graders. If the boys would come up on this side and the girls on this side. Teachers come on up too at the same time. This Saturday we're having our Pinewood Derby. Those of you who brought your cars tonight, we'll weigh them in for you, tell you if you need to add any weight to them. Make sure they're going to fit on the track right. We had one guy that had to get a new car and start all over again because he shortened the width of the thing. That's not nice to laugh. I had to stand over my kid last night with a whip and say, keep standing. I don't care if your hand hurts. I need 3rd and 4th graders to come on up. Boys on this side and girls on this side. We have a lot of things planned and I'm praying for rain so that all your soccer games and baseball games are rained out. And that my thing will be well attended. We'll see who has more faith here. On Saturday, along with all the Pinewood Derby activities, we have a carnival going on to keep your kids well entertained too. Prizes, some really neat games that the senior high have worked up. What am I down to here? 1st and 2nd grade? I need the 1st and 2nd grade boys and the 1st and 2nd grade girls over here. Those of you who cannot make it at 9.30 for the registration time, if you want to drop your car off, we'll race it without you and then hopefully you can show up to pick up your trophy. All we have left are the 4 and 5 year olds, the scooters. The 2 and 3 year olds are having a special ceremony in the back, so if you have a 2 and 3 year old, you could take them back there please because the teacher is in the back now. Okay, that's it. Just before you go, what's the status on the need for teachers? Actually, I have a list of 5 people sitting at my desk at home. My wife said hurry up and call those people so they can get a spot. So they're going quick. I think we're down to about a half a dozen teacher positions left. Isn't that great? Praise the Lord. We're now accepting applications for the fall. I mean, I'm serious. I'm joking about it, but it's a marvelous thing. We've been more than once on our faces on these steps praying for children's ministry workers, so bless the Lord and thank you brother for that. What time on Saturday for the family fun fair? Well, I have different registration times which are posted in the gym. Kindergarteners need to be here at 9.30 and then they go 15 minutes up from there, 1st and 2nd grade. Alright, and then things will be happening the whole morning? Yeah, until about 1.30, 2 o'clock. Okay, great. Before we go on, we're going to keep praising the Lord. This is a praise night at North Way which means lots of things will be a little bit different. I want to take a moment to welcome a few visitors that are here. We're going to have a brother who's not really a visitor, but he's here from out of the country. Come share with us for just a couple of seconds, a couple of minutes rather. We're going to stretch it out for you, Jim. I've been a visiting speaker where people have said that and you all of a sudden feel like someone's going to be holding the clock real tight. But if you're a visitor tonight, we're glad you're here and we want to welcome you. And by the way, North Way people, listen. I was talking to a visitor over the weekend and you know when we do this little thing on Sunday mornings like we're going to do right now, your enthusiasm is very easily caught by the people who attend. They can tell when you're just giving a perfunctory little, you know, I do this every Sunday kind of clap. And when you really get past that and get to the place of seeing that these people are truly a gift from the Lord and you should honor them that way. So I want just a little word of encouragement on Sundays when you're here. Even though you've done it how many other hundred times, for that visitor, that first time, that's the first time they've experienced something like that. And the difference between you really meaning it and just being a few little here is a big difference. Because in many cases those visitors on a Sunday morning don't even want to be acknowledged and you're welcoming them is a very important part of feeling at home here. So with that explanation now, I'm just going to ask the visitors who are here tonight just to wave your hand. Let's show the visitors. Any visitors tonight, wave your hand. Let's thank the Lord for bringing them. 1, 2, 3, great. 4, 5, wonderful. Another one over here, great. See, the thing is I know you really do mean it. Just like anything that you do all the time, it can become just, it falls back in. Visitors, thanks for coming. And in your packet there's a little bit of information about North Way, a description of what's going on around here, and a 3x5 card, which we would love for you to fill out and let us know you were here. And that is just a way of keeping in touch with you, if you would like us to. If not, we're just happy you're here. And we'll gather those when we take up the offering at the end of the evening. Jim, come on up. I mentioned Jim and Karen Vevers on Sunday morning in the message. I first met Jim when he was 13. He's now 17. He's in full-time mission work, serving the Lord in the nation of Grenada. Grenada, which should be familiar to most of us because of recent events. And there's a lot of exciting things that are happening related to Jim and Karen and our young people, which we'll be visiting with them this summer. Tell us what's happening, Jim. Okay, well first, before I say anything else, I wanted to just thank our family here at North Way for the support they've given us the last seven months. And particularly these last couple weeks. We're home because Karen's grandmother passed away. And we just really feel the support and the prayers, and we're really grateful. Actually, before we came up, Karen got a word from the Lord that the Lord told her that there were many people praying for us, even as we got the news. So we just felt it was our family here. But the Lord is doing a lot of things in Grenada. We've only been there since September. The vision of the Youth with a Mission Base, the organization we're with, in Grenada is to see a youth movement, a revival among the youth happen. And for the past seven months, it's been a time of adjustment for Karen and I to see how we fit in and what the Lord has for us there. And what we're doing now is heading up the children's program. Karen does that really well. She worked with the children here and loved it. And we also work with the deaf. Because in Grenada at this moment, there's not one church a deaf person can go to to receive ministry. They're completely forgotten about, basically. Just little stories to show you what the Lord's doing. The day before Easter, Saturday, we have our children's program every Saturday. That night, we had a really special King's Kids. That's the name of our children's program. We focused, of course, on the death and resurrection of Jesus. And we had a big cross up in the front of the room we use for our meetings. And we really put a very clear call to the children to give their hearts to the Lord. And we had five children kneeling around this cross, praying, giving their hearts to the Lord. It was the most dramatic thing we've seen since we've been there. So it was just a real encouragement to us. And then about February, we had our first deaf person pray with us to receive the Lord. And she comes over almost nightly to talk and to be discipled. And she's thrilled to have someone in her neighborhood who uses her language. So the Lord is really moving. And we have such a peace and a joy to be there. It's just such a joy to be in the center of God's will. Sometimes we think it's scary if we really obey what the Lord has for us. But there's no fear in it. You take that first step and the fear is gone. And it's replaced with a strength and a joy. Just a couple of questions for those of us who may not know. What is the general religion or religions of Grenada at this point? It's a very Christianized nation. A lot like the States, only I think there's a spirit of religion even harder than here. The majority of people are Catholic or Anglican or whatever, your basic denomination. But very, very, very hard, very hard to reach. You begin witnessing to them and they'll quote the scripture verses for you. But their lives are a mess. The family is in shreds in Grenada. You've told us about some of the terrible family problems and oppression. Now what's going to happen this summer when our young people come to be with you? Well actually we're going to put them to work. Amen. Actually we're looking forward to them coming down. What we hope to do is to bring them into the school so they can reach out to their peers. People their own age with the gospel. We would like them to do some dramas and skits and songs and to give testimonies in the schools primarily. And also they're going to be aiding Karen and I in our children's ministry. We have two King's Kids meetings going on in different areas. We want to see them expanded around the whole nation. So we're going to be putting them to work that way. And also working with the deaf, we have some projects there we can do. Working at the deaf school building, it's a mess. And also reaching out in friendship evangelism with them. How many other workers do you have with you associated with Youth of the Mission now? In Grenada there's about between 22 and 25. Tremendous. You're expecting to really do a work over the whole island in this youth generation. Oh yeah, the Lord has done a lot of things in the past fall. Let's pray for Jim, shall we Church? Lord, we thank you so much for a man and his wife called from this congregation, Lord. And sent out from this body, Lord. Raised up. We praise you, Father, for the clarity and the certainty of his sense of being drawn to this tiny island, Lord. And yet so lost, people so lost in religion and don't know the joy of relating to Jesus Christ. We pray for Jim and Karen these next couple of months as they prepare to receive our senior hires. And may that be a life changing experience, Lord. As they see firsthand and experience firsthand the needs of another nation of the world. And may other missionaries be birthed out of this trip, we pray, Father. I thank you for the faithfulness that you've shown to Jim and Karen. And continue to bless them, Lord. Multiply the efforts that they have put forth. And Lord, let this vision of a revival over this nation. And let this report reach our land. Reach our ears. That we partnered with them in Jesus' name. Amen. When are you going back? Tuesday. Alright, bless you, brother. Pastor Scott? In a moment, we're going to praise the Lord again. Looking at my watch, do you realize that 41 minutes ago there were about 100 million of the most disappointed people that ever lived. Somebody somewhere probably won that lotto. I don't think it was any of you. Or you'd have been on your TV sets right now with your little dickies. But you know, there's a level of anticipation that has welled up. Not only in our state, but in the whole country. In fact, in many parts of the world. Over this incredible lottery. Just an unusual sense of anticipation. It's the only thing people are talking about. It's not the only thing we're talking about, though. You see, Jesus said in Matthew 25, Enter thou into the joy of the Lord. Jesus Christ made it possible to enter in. To have the same level and greater levels of anticipation in entering in to his presence. Another version says, to share your master's happiness. To share your master's happiness. You see, entering in to the presence of God. And it begins through our praise. It's a decision that we make. Some of you made a decision to go and buy your lottery tickets. So that you could enter in to the joy that everybody else was experiencing. And the sorrow. I'm sorry. But in Christ there is no sorrow. And furthermore, as we enter in to that joy. As we read in Psalm 149. There is a purpose. Something begins to happen as soon as we enter in to God's presence. For in Psalm 149 we read, these are some of the words. Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song. His praise in the assembly of the saints. Let them praise his name with dancing. And make music to him with tambourine and harp. For the Lord takes delight in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation. Let the saints rejoice in his honor. And sing for joy in their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths. And a double edged sword in their hands. Now we begin to get a picture. Of a warrior. Of a warrior. We're entering in to God's presence through our praise. But we're positioned as a warrior. To inflict vengeance on the nations. And punishment on the peoples. To bind their kings with fetters. Their nobles with shackles of iron. To carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all the saints. You see, lottos aren't issues. Abortions are. Murder is. Frankly, our nation is facing the kind of life and death issues that require of us to be a warrior. In God's presence. Making a difference. And according to the word of God. Our very posture in praise and worship. Are coming into his presence. As a warrior. As a soldier. With a purpose. Literally. Becomes. The piercing sword. That begins to tear down those enemies. Isn't that exciting? We will be participating. In the tearing down of strongholds tonight. Through our praise and worship. Not only in this nation. Not only in this world. But brothers and sisters. In our lives. Let it happen in our lives. That we might live as victorious people. With praise. On our mouths. And a song in our heart. The world needs to hear it. Let's stand and praise God together. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Says the Lord. I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. Child you are mine. When you walk. Through the waters. I will be there. And through the flames. You'll not. You'll not. Leave her. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Says the Lord. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Says the Lord. For I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. Child you are mine. When you walk. Through the waters. I will be there. And through the flames. You'll not. No way. Leave her. For I am with you. With you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Says the Lord. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Fear not. For I am with you. Says the Lord. Now let's be bold. Be strong. For the Lord your God is with you. Be bold. Be strong. For the Lord your God is with you. I am not afraid. I am not afraid. Cause I'm walking in faith and victory. I'm walking in faith and victory. For the Lord your God is with you. Be bold. Be strong. For the Lord your God is with you. Be bold. Be strong. For the Lord your God is with you. I am not afraid. I am not afraid. Cause I'm walking in faith and victory. I'm walking in faith and victory. For the Lord your God is with you. I am not afraid. Cause I'm walking in faith and victory. I'm walking in faith and victory. For the Lord your God is with you. Thank you Father. Thank you Lord that you are with us. Thank you Father that we can be bold. And we will fear not. In Christ Jesus our Lord. You want to learn some new songs tonight? Well Susie is going to help us learn some new songs tonight. The next two songs are brand new. I didn't hear them until today. So if I sing some wrong notes, forgive me. Ready Susie? I'm going to lead you in it. Susie is going to lead all these guys. I'm going to lead all you guys. So when we sing back to them. Let's make sure we don't match them, we beat them. Okay. You are exalted above all else and we sing that wonderful praise to your name, Lord. You are wonderful. You are exalted, Lord. You are exalted, Lord, above all else. We place you in the highest place above all else. Right now where we stand and everywhere we go. We place you at the highest place, so the world will know You, you are a mighty warrior, dressed in armor of might Crushing the deeds of darkness, the speed of God in the fight Through the blood of Jesus, victorious we stand We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else Right now where we stand, everywhere we go We place you at the highest place, so the world will know You, you are a mighty warrior, dressed in armor of might Crushing the deeds of darkness, the speed of God in the fight We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Right now where we stand, everywhere we go We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky Our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else in the sky We need to pray about that, pray for God's understanding to break in We need to pray against the drugs and the things that are killing our children If we only would wake up and see that these are all around us We need to pray against the apathy, the religion And these songs tonight, as we sing them, they are purposeful songs with great meaning So let's sing them, even if you haven't prayed all week Maybe you haven't had one day or one minute of intercession I want you to sing the next five minutes, your intercession I believe God's going to break some things because of your faith being raised up This is strange, I thought we were just singing How many believe we are praying our songs, that's what we're doing, alright? Let's stand, get out of your seat a little bit anyhow And let's sing this together like we really mean it tonight, ready? You are our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else Come on, move it out, let's go! Yes Lord! We place you at the highest place, above all else You are a mighty warrior, casting off all doubt Touching the knees of darkness, with the power of Christ You are our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else You are our exalted Lord above all else We place you at the highest place, above all else Right now where we stand and everywhere we go We place you at the highest place, so the world will know For you are a mighty warrior, casting off all doubt Crushing the deeds of darkness, leading us on in our fight Through the blood of Jesus, victorious we stand We place you at the highest place, above all else You are a mighty warrior, casting off all doubt Crushing the deeds of darkness, leading us on in our fight Through the blood of Jesus, victorious we stand We place you at the highest place, above all else You are a mighty warrior, casting off all doubt Crushing the deeds of darkness, leading us on in our fight Through the blood of Jesus, victorious we stand We place you at the highest place, above all else Hallelujah, yes Lord, go ahead and lift up the stage Lift high the Lord, your God Lift high the Lord, Jesus King Lift high the Lord, our God Lift high the praise, you can sing For He is wonderful For He brings on fire For He is glorious The Lord God Almighty High the Lord, our God High the Lord, Jesus King High the Lord, our God High the praise, you can sing For He is wonderful For He brings on fire For He is glorious The Lord God Almighty High the Lord, our God High the Lord, Jesus King High the Lord, our God High the praise, you can sing High the Lord, our God High the Lord, Jesus King High the Lord, our God You can sing You can sing Yes Lord, go ahead Oh yes God We care tonight Lord about your name, your word, your honor God We care about your honor tonight Lord Oh Jesus We care about your honor tonight Lord Oh God, we pray tonight The very expenditure of energy Lord Would even be a sacrifice Father God It would be a sweet savor upon the altar Lord Where so little sweat has been poured in recent years Father For those things would so burden your heart tonight We thank you for the privilege of being part of a praying congregation Lord And thank you that faith is here tonight Lord For every need to be met For every bondage to be broken Even lead us as we pray together now Father in Jesus name If you didn't come in tonight with any sense of wanting to participate I know you were already Saying well gee I just was coming to church God delivers from coming to church God enable us to come and be touched We're going to turn right now into a circle of three or four folks I have a special burden tonight for us to To continue to pray for our Supreme Court You know, sit down for just a second Let me say this When Operation Rescue came through And stirred things up A lot of people said well I That's not really who I am I just, I could never do that I couldn't be involved in that But I'll pray for this I just want to challenge you brother or sister How much have you really prayed? Well, other things are more important Let God decide that I know that God cares about this nation And I know that as long as our nation just Kicks against the image of God in man We'll not be blessed How many of you want to see a revival in this land? I was talking to someone just yesterday You know, who was part of a church Fifteen years ago when revival In the sense of people just yearning to come out And the presence of the Lord falling And people having visions And all the things that you all want to see happen I think that accompanies a repentant and humble spirit And our prayers tonight And our praises tonight You know, there's a great In the Bible there's a great Association between Wholehearted genuine praise and repentance They go together Because as you focus on God You suddenly see Him for who He is And you know that hey I haven't quite been there I haven't been living in that world And I just We're going to have communion tonight We're going to share the Lord's table tonight And you see that praise is an appropriate preparation of our hearts As a believer We're going to agree for the Supreme Court We're going to agree against those oppressive things I was naming And then I want us to pray finally In each little group For God to pour out His highest blessing on one another Would you do that? Just believe in that little circle God's going to pour out His highest blessing on one another Whatever your need is You can share it real briefly And say Lord I want Your highest blessing In this family issue This personal matter Let's stand up together Join in a circle of three or four And go right into prayer Begin to pray for your Supreme Court And then for this North Hills For God to bring revival To remove the obstacles Take about seven or eight minutes Just agree for any personal need Directly now would you Anyone has a personal need Agree for God's highest blessing In that life Go ahead look them in the eye And say this is my need This is my need tonight You just speak the blessing You can even speak it Into their life Speak peace or provision Power Wholeness Isn't it where we long to be Oh Lord Show us Your mercy and grace Take us to Your holy place Forgive us sin And heal our neck We long to be In Your presence once again Taking our sickness Taking our pain Jesus the sacrifice Heaven's been sl
